The serial numbers are located on the back of the device and are handwritten in ink. SmartScopes™ with serial numbers 5000 and up will only work with remotes with serial numbers 5000 and up. Due to frequency changes, Adult Auscultation Trainer SmartScopes™ with serial numbers 0 to 4999 are only compatible with remotes with serial numbers 0 to 4999. We recommend that batteries be removed when not in use. The SmartScope™ is not equipped with a power button, this may drain the useful life of your batteries. The remote control does not have to be pointed directly at the manikin or SmartScope to operate. Lung sounds can be detected at five anterior, ten posterior, and two midaxillary locations. Students can practice auscultation at six anterior heart sites. A diagnosis of the condition selected by the instructor can be made by comparing the variations in sounds occurring at different sites.
